PTOS is a chapter of The American Theater Organ Society (ATOS). It's purpose is to preserve and maintain the art of the American Theater Organ and to inform and educate the American public about a type of musical instrument that lived for a relatively short time in our country's history. The age of the silent movie and the movie palaces that housed them provided a unique environment that may never exist again.

PTOS owns the organs located in the Paramount Center for the Arts, The Carolina Civic Center and The Walter Williams High School. It maintains, under contract, the Carolina Theater. PTOS is registered with the IRS as a 501(c)3 organization and is incorporated under the laws of the State of North Carolina as a not-for-profit educational corporation.

Membership is open to people interested in the preservation and maintenance of the instruments and/or to assist in the presentation of programs for the public. For information, call any of the officers listed. Click on Contact Us
